GPS hardwire

John has a Garmin 2720 GPS that he wanted to mount on his bike. He didn't want to use up his cigarette lighter plug for the unweildy power cord it comes with so we used one of the extra power cords I had to hardwire it.

While we had the fairing off for the front lightbar installation I connected the GPS power wire. I found a wire on the right side of the bike that has full-time power.

The frame around the radio has lots of good attachments for ground.

His GPS in place and hardwired.

It was a trivial job with the fairing removed. The power wire follows the factory wiring down the handlebar and behind the fairing.
